Victoria Medical Group Fees & Appointments

Fees and Payments

Victoria Medical Group is a private billing practice although most doctors at Victoria Medical Group offer mixed billing.  Billing is at the doctors’ discretion and may vary, especially if you are not seeing your regular doctor.  The doctor may offer bulk-billing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, Pensioner Concession Card holders, Veterans Affairs Card holders,  Health Care Card holders and children aged under 16.  Some doctors do not offer bulk-billing to new patients but may continue to offer bulk billing to existing patients of the practice.

Medicare and Concession cards must be presented before each consultation. Please check with your Doctor prior to your consultation how much the fee will be.

Please be advised that effective 1 August 2022, our practice fees will be increased. A standard appt will be increased to $85.00 and Long consult $130.00. Thank you for your understanding.

Making Payments

Payment is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card (excluding Diners). All workers compensation and motor vehicle accident patients are required to pay their accounts at the time of consultation until a letter of liability is produced from their insurance company.

We normally require people to make a booking but we can sometimes help if you walk into the Medical Centre. Priority is given to people who have made a booking.

Our appointment system caters for urgent, non urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative healthcare. If you need more time with your GP, please book a long consultation. Urgent appointments will be seen by the next available GP. Please advise reception if you believe you require an urgent appointment. Urgent appointments will be triaged by the nurse on duty.
