Bunbury Medical Centre Services
Bunbury Medical Centre has a treatment room and procedure room. Here are some of the main services we provide.
Our Asthma Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse certified in asthma management. Bringing comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the most effective asthma medication and management programs, she works closely with our GP’s to help and support patients on how to best manage their own or their child’s asthma.
Your GP can help you stay independent for longer and to live with dignity. We can help with issues such as incontinence, mobility, falls, or declining memory. Many assessments, treatments and medicines for older people are subsidised by the government. Our GP’s provide care for patients throughout their life, supporting and guiding the work of their palliative carers.
Doctor Foster & Associates is a practice that cares for the whole family, with a commitment to looking after your child during those critical early years. Our GPs offer children vaccinations, growth development, feeding advice, baby, child and adolescent health and healthy kids checks.
GP Management Plans are comprehensive, long-term care plans, made just for you if you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, stroke, cancer and chronic pain. Our GPs will manage and coordinate the ongoing care you receive from all your healthcare providers.
Typically men are reluctant to visit their doctor and tend to ignore symptoms that may possibly require attention. An annual check-up is recommended to give you and your doctor the opportunity to discuss and address any potential problems.
Speak to your GP if you’re struggling to cope, feeling low or anxious. Our GPs can assess your condition and may provide therapy and treatment. Our GPs also support people with dependence or addiction problems.
Our GP Obstetricians will care for you through your pregnancy and deliver your baby at either the Bunbury Regional or St John of God Hospital. Tell the receptionist you want to see one of our Obstetric specialists, and make an appointment as early as possible, so that your doctor can care for you throughout the pregnancy.
Employers may require health screening. Our GPs provide pre-employment health assessments including hearing, vision and fitness tests. Blood and urine tests can also be arranged. Injured at work? Your medical expenses and wages may be covered under workers compensation and WorkCover.
Our GPs have additional training and experience to assess, diagnose and treat skin cancers. We use special equipment including dermatoscopes and photographic monitoring of skin lesions to assess your skin. We can sometimes treat pre-cancerous lesions and early skin cancers with non-surgical treatments. The surgical services we provide include biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy and curettage of superficial skin lesions. When necessary, our GPs will also perform skin flaps and grafts.
Perform your best with the help of your GP. We not only treat injuries but offer advice on physical fitness, exercise, nutrition planning and rehabilitation. A number of our GP’s are specialised in the particular area of sports medicine, with an emphasis on the non-surgical care and management of injuries. If further intervention is required, your GP can make the appropriate referrals on your behalf.
Our GPs offer education and advice to minimise health risks while travelling and provide medications and immunisations. Common requirements are prevention of malaria or altitude sickness, treatments for diarrhoea and allergies.
Our GPs help women at every stage of life including contraception, cervical screening, sexual problems, pregnancy, ovarian cysts, period problems and menopause. We offer a number of services specifically for women, including; pap smears, breast checks, pre-pregnancy advice, menopause support, contraception and sexual health.
