Ashwood Medical Group Services
We cater to the health needs of all your family. Here are some of our main services.
The purpose of antenatal care is to improve the health and wellbeing of mum and baby and should begin before pregnancy. Our GPs provide support and guidance every steps of the way. The health of both mum and baby is monitored through regular examinations, screening tests and ultrasounds.
We diagnose and treat hearing loss, balance problems and conditions such as vertigo in adults and children. Come to us for hearing tests, hearing aids and after care. Some concession card holders are eligible for fully subsidised services via the Hearing Services Program.
GP Management Plans are comprehensive, long-term care plans, made just for you if you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, stroke, cancer and chronic pain. Our GPs will manage and coordinate the ongoing care you receive from all your healthcare providers.
Feeling tired or lacking energy? You may be iron deficient. In some cases taking iron supplements orally isn’t effective or can’t be tolerated. Our GPs can offer iron infusions (IVs) directly into your blood stream.
Ashwood Medical Group has Clinical Pyschologists available onsite. Our Psychologists are experienced in helping people overcome a range of difficulties through counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Our GPs have additional training and experience to assess, diagnose and treat skin cancers. We use special equipment including dermatoscopes to assess your skin. We can sometimes treat pre-cancerous lesions and early skin cancers with non-surgical treatments. The surgical services we provide include biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy and curettage of superficial skin lesions. When necessary, our GPs will also perform skin flaps and grafts.
Our GPs offer education and advice to minimise health risks while travelling and provide medications and immunisations. Common requirements are prevention of malaria or altitude sickness, treatments for diarrhoea and allergies. We are also an approved yellow fever vaccination clinic and provide you with yellow fever vaccination certification in the form approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO). This is essential for travel to areas such as sub-Saharan Africa and tropical South America. Please make sure you book in for your yellow fever vaccination no less than 10 days before entering a risk area.
Vasectomies are available at Ashwood Medical Group. Vasectomies are minimally invasive and performed under local anaesthetic so you can drive immediately after the procedure and take minimal time off work.
Dr Yazdani can treat spider and varicose veins with sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is the injection of irritant chemicals into the affected vein. Leg veins can take up to six months to clear up after treatment.
Our GPs help women at every stage of life including contraception, cervical screening, sexual problems, pregnancy, ovarian cysts, period problems and menopause.
