Booking an appointment at Lakelands Medical Centre: 3204 4766
Our phones are open from 8.00am to take bookings.
A standard length of consultation with your GP is 10 to 15 minutes.
A long consultation should be booked if your problem is complex or you have multiple issues to discuss.
Please make bookings for each person wishing to consult the doctor at the time of booking. This helps us reduce waiting times for both yourself and others.
If the problem is an emergency or is urgent please tell the receptionist at the time of phoning.
Accident and Emergency: 32044766
Telephone the surgery for advice on action to take in the event of a medical emergency or accident. Any urgent or painful medical condition will be seen almost immediately on arriving at the surgery. The doctors know that other booked patients will understand any unavoidable delays in appointment times due to emergency cases. If it is not urgent you will be asked to make a booking.

Fees and Billing Arrangements:
Appointment fees are based on length and complexity of appointments and are at the discretion of the treating doctor. For Medicare card holders a rebate is available that covers the major part of the cost. Procedures such as removal of sunspots and skin checks will have a small additional fee.
The general cost of a standard consultation is $70 and a longer consultation $110. Payment of fees is required at the time of service.
Cash, major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted ( excluding Diners Club and AMEX) and if you have a Debit Card we can arrange for the Medicare reimbursement to be approved at the time of consultation.
Concession Card holders and children under 16 are bulk billed if a Medicare card and current concession card are presented at each visit.
Commercial driver’s licences, insurance medicals, skin checks and some other services attract an additional fee. This will be discussed at the time of booking and payment by credit card or cash is required at the time of service.
Work related injuries are usually covered by your employer’s insurance. Please tell the receptionist if your injury is work related.
Patients not registered with Medicare and visitors from overseas are required to pay $70 for a standard appointment at the time of consultation. Longer appointments (20 minutes) cost $110.
If you are a new patient with a newborn and no Medicare, you will be required to pay the fee for babies visit on the day and claim your refund when registration is complete.
If you are referred to a specialist you need to ask that specialist about fees and any other costs that may arise.
If you require the doctor to fill out forms ( ie for insurance, work, school, uni, gym, blood bank, passport, health funds) you will need to make an appointment.

Brief Consultation 5mins $35 ($16.95Rebate)
Standard Consultation 10mins $70 ($37.05 rebate)
Long Consultation 20mins $110 ($71.70 rebate)
Prolonged consultation 40mins $145 ($103.50 rebate)
Commercial Drivers Medical 15mins $ 110 (inclusive of GST)
Patients holding a current Pension or Health Care Card will have most services bulk billed. Children under 16 are bulk billed.
What to do if we are fully booked and you need to be seen?
By arranging appointments in advance, (especially for the pill script and repeat medications and Centrelink forms) in most circumstances you will be able to arrange an appointment at a time convenient to yourself.
If your problem is urgent (ie urinary tract infection, something in the eye, chest pain ..) let the receptionist know and they will ask the doctor for guidance as to how best we can help.
After Hours Arrangements:
After 6pm weekdays and after 12 noon on Saturdays, our phone number (3204 4766) is automatically redirected to the After Hours service, This is a bulk billed service.
Home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery at the discretion of the doctor. There is a fee for this service depending on distance and length of consultation.
