Kuranda Medical Centre Services

We cater to the health needs of all your family. Here are some of our main services.

Your GP can help you stay independent for longer and to live with dignity. We can help with issues such as incontinence, mobility, falls, or declining memory. Many assessments, treatments and medicines for older people are subsidised by the government. Just ask your GP.

The purpose of antenatal care is to improve the health and wellbeing of mum and baby and should begin before pregnancy. Our GPs provide support and guidance every steps of the way. The health of both mum and baby is monitored through regular examinations, screening tests and ultrasounds.

GP Management Plans are comprehensive, long-term care plans, made just for you if you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, stroke, cancer and chronic pain. Our GPs will manage and coordinate the ongoing care you receive from all your healthcare providers. Kuranda Medical Centre offers monthly clinics for patients with diabetes and heart disease. Patients have access to a Dietitian, Diabetes Educator, Exercise Physiologist and Pharmacist for education and support.

Kuranda Medical Centre is committed to the Closing the Gap program. All Indigenous patients are bulk-billed and offered comprehensive health checks. We have an Indigenous Health Worker and conduct fortnightly outreach clinics in Kowrowa.

Perform your best with the help of your GP. We not only treat injuries but offer advice on physical fitness, exercise, nutrition planning and rehabilitation.

Our GPs help women at every stage of life including contraception, cervical screening, sexual problems, pregnancy, ovarian cysts, period problems and menopause.

We are pleased to have our Registered Nurse, Liz who is a highly experienced Registered Nurse who has been with the practice for several years.  Liz is is qualified to provide Cervical Screening for our female patients, should they prefer to see a female practitioner.

Liz is available to perform Pap Smears on Wednesdays and Thursdays, however, patients will be required to see a GP after their women's health checks.

Our GPs are skilled at the detection and removal of skin cancers and minor surgery. Dr Sinha is excellent with suturing and minor skin and surgical procedures and after care.
