Wollongong Medical Centre Fees & Appointments

Fees and Payments

Fees

We bulk bill. Please present your Medicare Card before each consultation.

Appointments

Whilst it is not necessary to make an appointment, there may be times when doctors have seen the maximum patient amount per day, as determined by Medicare, and therefore are unable to continue accepting walk-ins.  All our walk-ins are determined by GP availability on the particular day. We thank you for your understanding.

Making Payments

If you do not have a Medicare Card you will be required to pay a fee. Payment is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card (excluding Diners and AMEX cards). All workers compensation and motor vehicle accident patients are required to pay their accounts at the time of consultation until a letter of liability is produced from their insurance company.

Appointments

Walk-ins

This medical centre operates on a walk-in basis however it is subject to how many doctors are working on a particular day. If we have fewer doctors on than usual, they are only able to see a certain number of patients in a day due to Medicare restrictions.

At times you may experience a waiting period due to GPs tending to urgent or complex medical issues. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding

Appointments

Our appointment system caters for urgent, non urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative healthcare. We are a walk-in medical centre. Urgent appointments will be seen by the next available GP. Please advise reception if you believe you require an urgent appointment. Urgent appointments will be triaged by the nurse on duty.

Sometimes GPs are delayed by patients with urgent or complex issues. We apologise if you’re asked to wait and thank you for your patience.
