Dr Philip Chen is leaving the Penrith Medical Centre

To All My Lovely Patients
After 5 years at Penrith Medical Centre, Henry St, I have decided to make some changes to my career. Many of you will know that prior to coming to Penrith, I owned and ran my own 2 man practice, with a business partner for 23 years.
Whilst I have enjoyed my time here, I have decided that my future lies in a smaller intimate practice rather than a larger centre. For this reason I have taken on the challenge of starting up a new practice from scratch, on my own, in Richmond, commencing in February 2019.
As part of this transition process, my hours of work at Penrith will reduce substantially commencing from February 4 2019, as I will be working at both Penrith and Richmond, from this date.
Ultimately my plan is to be working full time, permanently and solely at my own practice in Richmond, only, by May 2019.
Commencing from February 4, 2019, my Penrith hours will be as follows:
Monday: 2pm-7-pm alternating weekly with
Saturday: 9am- 1pm, alternate Saturdays only. Hours on the day may be extended according to demand.
The Saturday availability is a new innovation and is there to reduce the impact of reduced hours during the week. Appointments for Saturdays can be made in advance, via the usual means, as you would any other day.
I understand that for many of you, these hours and location may not suit, so I fully understand and appreciate that you may wish to seek alternative medical care, and as you are aware, there are many other wonderful Doctors at this practice here at Penrith.
Of course, I am more than happy to continue to see those patients that wish to see me here until I leave.
For those that wish to see me at Richmond, the staff here at Penrith will gladly forward you my details there.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your support and loyalty over the last 5 years, here at Penrith, and also to thank you for your understanding when my waiting times have blown out. Not too often I hope, and not by intention! (I may be guilty of sometimes spending too much time in trying to solve your medical issues, to the detriment of the waiting room, so I apologise for that!)
I have endeavoured to provide a high level of quality personable medical care to you all, and hope I have achieved that more often than not.
Thank you again for allowing me to assist you with your medical needs and to be a part of your life. In return, working with you, has given me an immense job satisfaction, and no doubt I will miss some of you that choose alternate medical assistance.
Take care, and I wish you all good health
Dr. Philip Chen.
